Therapy Services
So many parts of being a parent feel hard because they truly are hard, not because you are doing something wrong.
And with the right support you can find your way through it all.

We all have a story, and our story matters. – Brené Brown
Reaching out for support at any stage— from pre-conception, perinatal, postpartum and parenting— takes tremendous bravery. It’s a sign of strength, not weakness, to recognize that you need help and that you want to change the place you are currently in. Asking for support is an indication that you are committed to being the best version of yourself, even when it feels hard.
Therapy can be a valuable space where you’re not only heard, but also empowered to process emotions, manage stress, and gain the tools needed to navigate this challenging time. Seeking help is a powerful act of self-care and a reflection of your dedication as a parent
You don’t have to go through this journey alone. The courage to reach out is the first step toward healing and growth, and it speaks volumes about the loving and thoughtful parent you are.
A few thoughts about going to therapy
What to expect when beginning therapy
Getting Started
We’ll begin with hearing your story and understanding the challenges you’re facing. In our sessions, I’ll provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. The pace and depth of our work will be guided by your comfort and needs.
Making a Plan
As we begin our work together, we’ll set clear, achievable goals for therapy. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, trauma, or the transitions of parenthood, together we’ll create a plan that feels supportive and empowering.
The Therapy Process
In therapy, you’ll be supported in finding new tools for coping with stressors, processing difficult emotions or past experiences, consider new ways of thinking and insight while focusing on your healing and growth.
As therapy progresses, we will check in on your goals, celebrate progress, and make adjustments as needed. You’re always in control of the direction of our work, and it’s okay to share if something isn’t working for you or if you need additional support.
What is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapeutic approach designed to help process and heal traumatic memories. In the perinatal space, EMDR can be particularly helpful in addressing difficulties resulting from birth trauma, anxiety, or unresolved emotions related to pregnancy and early parenthood. By facilitating the brain's natural healing process, EMDR can help reduce emotional distress and promote a sense of well-being, supporting you on your journey to recovery and balance. Every individual and family deserves support that is affirming and respectful of their unique experience. Therapy for the perinatal and postpartum periods is for everyone in any role related to the family including: non-birthing partners, dads, those navigating pregnancy or parenting unpartnered, as well as adoptive parents, blended families, and non-traditional families. LGBTQ+, non-binary and gender non-conforming individuals and parents are warmly welcomed to access therapy support through the challenges and joys of the perinatal and postpartum journey.
