Periods of change often bring both possibility and emotional complexity.

Many of us grow up with expectations about how life is supposed to unfold — that growth will feel natural, that major milestones will happen on a certain timeline, and that reaching them will bring clarity, fulfillment, or relief. These narratives can shape how we view ourselves and our experiences long before we realize it.

While there can be moments of truth in these ideas, many people are surprised when reality doesn’t align with what they imagined. When feelings like anxiety, grief, anger, or emotional overwhelm surface — sometimes without a clear reason — it can feel confusing, isolating, and difficult to manage on your own.

Life transitions and challenges can be complicated by loss, trauma, chronic stress, mental health concerns, or experiences that leave a lasting emotional impact. The pressure to “handle things well” or “get it right” can lead to intrusive thoughts, self-doubt, or the fear that something is wrong or that things will never feel better. Support during these moments can make a meaningful difference.

“Healing does not mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls your life.”
– Akshay Dubey

Britni Chambers, online therapist for women and mothers in Alberta

I’m Britni.

Therapy is for everyone.

Whether you’re a woman navigating motherhood, a parent juggling expectations and overwhelm, a partner seeking support, or an individual facing anxiety, depression, or life stress — you belong here.

I come to this work as a psychotherapist, mental health counsellor, and social worker — and as someone who understands how deeply life experiences can impact our mental and emotional well-being.

Life transitions and unexpected challenges can be transformative and overwhelming, often leaving people wondering, “Is it supposed to feel this hard?”

While I’ve been a practicing social worker for many years, my passion for this work has also been shaped by my own experiences with infertility, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and postpartum challenges. I know first-hand how heavy life can feel at times — and how meaningful the right support can be. You don’t have to navigate it alone.
