Pregnancy, Postpartum and Parenting
Becoming and being a mom is beautiful, and it’s anything but easy. The journey into motherhood can be complicated by infertility, loss, birth experiences, and mental health challenges, and the pressure to “get it right” can create self-doubt or fear that things will always feel this way.
There is nothing quite like the transformation to becoming a mom…
Before becoming mothers, many women are told that motherhood will feel natural, intuitive, and deeply fulfilling — that building a family will follow a certain timeline and bring constant joy. While there can be moments of truth in this, many women are surprised when their experience doesn’t match what they imagined.
Feelings of anxiety, grief, anger, or overwhelm can surface unexpectedly, leaving you feeling isolated or unsure of yourself. You don’t have to navigate this season alone — support can help bring steadiness, clarity, and compassion back into your experience.
If this season of life is challenging, you are not alone
At least 1/5 moms experience a PMAD (perinatal mood and anxiety disorders)
Anxiety or depression during pregnancy or postpartum, birth trauma, questioning whether you “should” feel this way, worrying about if what baby is doing is “normal”, these can all be incredibly overwhelming and isolating experiences. If you are feeling uncertain, low, or “not yourself”, know that you do not need to struggle through this on your own.
"The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new."
